Welcome to my
AS media blog. As part of my brief I have been asked to create a new music
magazine; within this blog I will be demonstrating and providing evidence of
how I will be creating the magazine which will consist of a front cover, contents
page and a double page spread. My initial ideas immediately gravitated towards
the genre of Hip Hop. I have been a dedicated fan of the sound (Mainly within
the decades of 80s/90s). My reasoning for choosing this Genre is because I find
it unique and interesting, the sound of hip hop is the unheard language of the
youth, it discusses key issues within society and demonstrates the drive for
success which I personally can relate to and connect with and I hope to express
these ideologies within my project.
The development
of the sound and the length of ‘hustle’(work) at which they go to in order to
make the genre relevant and well respected by legendary individuals/groups such
as: notorious B.I.G, Public enemy, Wu tang clan, DE la soul, slick rick etc. As
a singer I myself find it important to listen to a range of different genres
which can express emotion effectively and Hip Hop most definitely reflects
that. At this present time I do not have any initial concerns; however overall
time I am aware that time management and attention to detail may play a part
within this project, with progression I will be showing how I overcome any issues
and the journey of it becoming an effective learning experience.
